細胞學常規染色普遍使用巴氏(Papanicolaou)法。Papanicolaou Stain 最初僅用檢測于陰道上皮雌激素水平以及生殖道念珠菌、滴蟲等病原體。橘黃 G6 與 EA36 或 EA50 聯用，可將胞漿染成顏色鮮明的綠色、藍色和粉色。染色后胞質鮮艷、透明性好以及核膜、核仁、染色質結構清晰。巴氏染色液用于細胞脫落標本，細胞核呈藍色或黑色，角化鱗狀細胞胞漿呈粉紅或橘紅色。

本試劑為G1612-巴氏染色試劑盒(EA36)的試劑D，比 EA50 更適用于婦科細胞學涂片染色。例如篩查宮頸癌和癌前病變。
